Rare Steely Dan Clip from 1973

21 Nov

You gotta dig Steely Dan … they are the best. Very eclectic … jazzy & rockin’. Check out all the shaggy long hair, loud shirts, bad teeth, and a young Bill Cosby doing his best Groucho Marx imitation. Denny Dias and soon-to-be Doobie Brother Jeff “Skunk” Baxter chip in with dualing guitar riffs. Love it!

It amazes me how few of the players in Steely Dan were actually members of the band. Don’t get me wrong, I love Steely Dan’s work for the first eight years of their career. But this group was dependent on outside talent to give flavor to their best songs.
