Bud Foster Opening Blacksburg Eatery

14 Aug

Virginia Tech Football Coach Bud Foster is opening a restaurant in Blacksburg, VA. Foster, who is the team’s Defensive Coordinator, is widely regarded as an intense leader with a long track record of success. I have included the story on the eatery below — we wish him well. GO HOKIES!!!

Bud Foster’s Restaurant, located at 400 Turner St. NW, Suite 101 in Blacksburg, will open Monday, roughly two weeks after the originally planned opening date due to delays in renovation.

The restaurant is named after Virginia Tech football defensive coordinator Bud Foster, who has a vested interest in the restaurant but will not be involved in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, said co-owner Robert Hodge. Foster has contributed ideas, including the use of his trademarked lunch pail to be incorporated into the design of the restaurant.

The site was formerly The Boston Beanery, a tavern-style chain restaurant. The Blacksburg location closed its doors May 31 after about seven years.

Hodge said Bud Foster’s Restaurant will be an upscale, casual dining restaurant with American fare like steaks, chicken and seafood.
