Best Western Theme Ever?

21 May

I have watched both “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” and “The Magnificent Seven” in the past couple weeks. Both are really good (and long) flicks. Got me thinking about the best Western themes ever. On the silver screen, I really love  Ennio Morricone’s “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly,” but would have to give the nod to Elmer Bernstein’s sweeping theme from “Magnificent Seven” (aka The Marlboro Man song). Another really good under-rated one is “The Big Country.” As for the boob tube, you could go with “Rawhide,” but my sentimental choice would be “Bonanza.” How could you side against good old Hoss Cartwright?

Have a listen (and look) below — and you decide, Podner. Hard to go wrong with any in this group.
